Why We’re Different from National Firms or DIY Tools

NM Property Tax Protest is more than just a filing service. We're a team of New Mexicans committed to helping our neighbors fight back against unfair property valuations.

Unlike national firms, we don’t treat you like a case number. Unlike DIY software, we don’t leave you guessing through confusing forms. And unlike our local competition who implement out of touch systems (paper forms you have to print/scan or fax) that haven't been updated in more than a decade, we take a hands-on, case-by-case approach designed to get the maximum reduction possible for your specific situation.

Where others may rely heavily on volume over quality, we personally evaluate every case, run detailed market comps, and communicate directly with county assessors, because getting it right takes more than filing paperwork.

We’re local, transparent, and only get paid if we win.

Our Mission: Helping New Mexicans Keep More of Their Money

At NM Property Tax Protest, our mission is to make sure New Mexico property owners never pay more than their fair share in property taxes.

We believe every property owner deserves a fair, accurate valuation, and the opportunity to challenge inflated assessments without expensive lawyers, confusing systems, or predatory pricing.

We're here to bring clarity to a complicated process, advocating for New Mexicans who’ve been overcharged by outdated or unfair property valuations.

Our work isn't just about saving money, it’s about restoring fairness, one homeowner at a time.

Our Story

Peter and Isaac, co-founders of NM Property Tax Protest, standing together in Albuquerque, NM

The idea for NM Property Tax Protest started with frustration, and a bit of disbelief. One of our founders, Isaac, received two property valuations in a row that were significantly over-assessed. If left unchallenged, they would have led to thousands of dollars in unfair property taxes. Instead of just paying the inflated bills, he dug in (twice), learned the protest process from the inside out, and with Peter's help, successfully filed the appeals. The result was thousands saved and a realization of how broken the system is for everyday homeowners.

That experience sparked a mission. Together, we founded NM Property Tax Protest to make sure others in New Mexico wouldn’t get caught off guard the same way, and wouldn’t have to figure it out alone.

As best friends nearly their entire adult lives and co-owners of High Desert Property Solutions, a local real estate investment company focused on fix-and-flip projects, we’ve spent years navigating property values, appraisals, and tax assessments across New Mexico. We know how the system works, and where NM county assessors often get it wrong.

What sets us apart isn’t just our expertise. We love creating smart systems, helping people feel confident in uncertain situations, and, most importantly, doing the right thing.

From managing the protest paperwork to representing you in hearings, we built this company to fight for fairness on behalf of homeowners, the way we’d want someone to fight for us.

And the best part? You only pay us if we save you money.
